Nova Scotia is one of Canada’s Maritime Provinces, and is one of the smallest provinces in Canada.
When you touch down in Halifax, Nova Scotia, first thing is first! Rent a car, it is approximately $80.00 CAD to taxi from the airport to Halifax, and about $80.00 CAD to rent a car for a day. Even if you feel you will only be using it for a day it is well worth it, as travel here can become quite pricey.
If you plan on stopping by Nova Scotia, you will probably at some point of another find yourself in Halifax. Make sure to enjoy and sample the rich seafood culture readily available all the way down Argyle street. As the world’s largest exporter of lobster, needless to say, ordering lobster based dishes is a must!
I always say you can’t put a price on good food, but boy does Nova Scotia seafood come at a price! But the freshness and experience of locally sourced, fresh caught oyster, and lobster definitely leaves the palate craving more.
Once you have explored Halifax, be sure to make your way down to Peggy’s Cove, it is about a 40 minute drive from Halifax. If you like scenic drives, and beautiful landscapes the trip is definitely worth it.
If you follow google maps to Peggy’s Cove it will take you to a parking lot, with lot of area’s to park and explore the coast.
Once you have finished marveling at the coastal view, you absolutely must stop by a small food truck outside of a bed and breakfast on your way to the iconic Peggy’s Point Lighthouse.
Peggys Lighthouse is a popular tourist destination, with readily available parking at the top of the hill, with only one road leading to the destination.
Be sure to take a walk around Peggy’s Lighthouse, and be sure to try the different variety of food offered in the small fishing town.
